About | Kristin Belmonte, LCSW, LICSW
Hello, I’m Kristin. I’m a psychotherapist serving adults in Connecticut and Vermont. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Connecticut in 2015 and have been in clinical practice since 2019. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, chronic illness, cancer, and related mental health challenges, with a special focus on sleep difficulties such as chronic insomnia and nighttime anxiety.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), an evidence-based treatment that can be offered on its own or integrated with other approaches. After struggling with insomnia for many years myself, I experienced firsthand how transformative this work can be, and pursued professional training in CBT-I. In my work, I draw from modalities such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Focused CBT, as well as experiential and exposure based methods, using an integrative approach tailored to each client’s needs.
As a holistic therapist, I consider the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of each person’s experience. As a cancer survivor and member of the chronic illness community, I bring deep empathy to my work with clients facing health-related challenges. My goal is to offer a warm, respectful space where you can feel supported, resilient, and more at home within yourself.
